The teaching and research team in the Geosciences Department uses state-of-the-art scientific infrastructures for its research:

UniLaSalle also has an extensive collection of rocks, minerals and fossils (18 tons in total).

Some associate professors in the Geosciences Department contribute to the work carried out in the HydrISE and B2R (Basins – Resources – Reservoirs) research units.

  • Mapping, acquisition of electrical profiles and microtectonic study of the Bure underground laboratory in cooperation with ANDRA and Geoter
  • Expert assessment of fracturing caused by excavation: Bure underground laboratory (ANDRA and Geoter)
  • Geomorphological study, mapping and sensitivity maps of the « Hauts de France II line » (GRT Gaz)
  • « OPOPOP » program: optimization of the parameters of ozonation in a liquid-phase reactor of multiple pollutants from a polluted site. Case study of waste water containing multiple metallic and/or organic pollutants
  • Syntectonic project: recording tectonic events in sedimentation (USPC-Spanish Pyrenees)
  • ECOSABLE project, a partnership with Montupet SA and MINES ParisTech: characterization of foundry sand used to manufacture aluminum engine cylinder head cores
  • Development project for a hydrogeological facility on campus in collaboration with Beauvais Town Council
  • Research program on the geology of the chalk in the Paris Basin: characterization of a fractured carbonate reservoir. Static and dynamic modeling.
  • Deep geothermal energy at the UniLaSalle site: feasibility study
  • Comparison and integrated characterization of thermobarometric markers of the evolution of sedimentary basins in the fields of diagenesis/anchimetamorphism.
